From Director to location set boy was no other than Santhosh Pandittt. Co- artists are mainly his teenage friends. He sold his village house received inherited to raise fund for the film. Every song in the cinema was appeared in You Tube before the release and became top second after Facebook. More than 2.5 million viewers saw each clip. In spite of all its flaws as a cinema, he earned several millions of rupees from this cinema.

The time has been changed.  The age is that of comedies. Youth were behind a subject for comedy. SMS and Facebook messages became the media of their companions. Santhosh Pandit, a graduate in Psychology had an obvious understanding and confidence in exploiting the mentality of the young people. He might have inspiration from Silsila, a well discussed You Tube clip.

Now Santhosh Pandit is busy at locations. School students, college students including professional degree students and other youths are running after him with their autographs.

     Most of the audience is not keen on the screen. They are clapping, singing and dancing with him. They are enjoying the situation as the entertainment program conducted at temple festivals.

K B Ganesh Kumar  also presented in the ceremony. Those who know the story of Ekalavya will not say that this award is not eligible to him. Courage is the first quality for anything. Now he is busy in his second film, Jithu Bhai Enna Choklate Bhai. Enthusiastic crazy followers are ready to uphold him on the seat of a super star.  Then why does he hesitate to give a feast of his own to them?

     Another project is the production of a film proposed to release in 2012. The proposed film is named as Kalidasan Kavithayezhuthukayanu.

Birth and Education

Santhosh Pandit was born at Peruvannamuzhi, about 12 km away from Permbra, Kozhikode District. Then he moved to Narikkuni, about 20 km away from Peruvannamuzhi.

     His earlier education was at A K KR High School, Chelannur, nearKozhikode.

 He is a post graduate in Hindi and Psychology. He also put his hands in other branches of education. Film editing was one among them.

 His married life was not a success. It led to divorce. He has a son.

Some see him as a comedian in real life.  But this is not right. There are roles for the comedians in a film. When a person shows excellence in two or three fields or phases, we call him a versatile genius. Santhosh Pandit may not be considered as a genius.  But making such a film with successful result is not a negligible one.  His film is not kept closed in a box. It is a crowd puller film in theatres of shouting and dancing audiences.

       Now those who don’t know Santhosh Pandit are comparatively very low. Then he is a self made daredevil!  We are forced to approve him.

      His film may be a disputed one. The quality and features of his film is not a subject to discuss. It may have a number of demerits.  It is clear that nobody can shine in all fields. It can be seen as the change in the modern times. We find time to sit in an open theatre to watch the degradable programs in our own locality.

Break dances and the modern film songs are to be observed critically. Meaning or gesture has no place in modern songs and dances. They are not classical; but become classic. So is the case of Santhosh Pandit’s film.

Is he deserved to be crowned as a Super Star?

     Super star is not a position granted by any authority. A large number of audience cheering to see live or doing sacrifices to see him in his films can be considered as the criteria to be a super star.

No crowded audiences can be seen in theatres now. But we saw a crazy audience standing in queue for tickets for Krishnanum Radhayum in ticket counters.

Then who says that he is not a super star.

Of course, he is a one man army. How did he make a nest in the minds of the younger generation?

When we know that he sold one of his houses received inherited out for raising fund for producing a picture in which all roles from the location boys to the director all put their fingers on their noses with wonder. As he had to appear before the camera, he had to depend on a camera man’s help.

     Many films, including the first film of Super star Mohanlal have not yet seen light. They are still in boxes. But Krishnanum Radhaym, the first adventurous attempt of Santhosh Pandit proved it a great success.  Now some big budget films have to face setback in box office.  But the theatres where Krishnanu Radhayum showed witnessed a crowded audience that could not be seen for along period of time. Medias reported that police had to control the enthusiastic audience.

     

     Can threat or influence attract audience? Never!  There are many fan groups for Malayalam supers stars also. They say that a huge amount is spent for making a super star film a grand success.  But result is getting negative.  We have to evaluate Santhosh Pandit’s attempt in this situation. He lost one of his houses. But his gain is many folds of its value.
